Just like Chinese, there are different dialect group in the Phillppines too. My FB speak Ilocano. Mama and papa = they follow the spanish way of calling.

The way home was pitch dark. hardly can see the path ahead. They do have street lamp, but the darkness of the night was overwhelming. My and my FB was sitting inside the side car. Her brother as the rider, son and daughter was the pillion. The road was bumpy too, keep getting my head knock against the top of the side car.
Finally we reach her house. It was a plot of land on the left side of the road. On this very land, three houses make of grey cement bricks and zinc tiles roof was build on it. Houses were not paint, you can feel and see the grey color and the crack and dirt on it. I feel a sense of like our old kampung's feel. House Layout and Floor plan Once you exit from the road, you will face the door of the house. On the left, it is her brother's. Middle house live my FB and her daughter and on the right is her parents and my FB youngest son. All three house have a small size like balcony oustide the door. A small path from each balcony lead to where I am standing now, parking space for the motocycle. No cement floor or black coal road leading to the house. It was all natural soil and rock. A bit hard to walk under the pitch darkness. Entering the house welcoming me was the living room. On the right was my FB's room. The next room was her daughters'. Moving down was the dinning room and kitchen. At the back was the washing room and another kitchen. Exit from this kitchen, you will find the toliet and bathroom and a water pump standing in between of the space of these 2 rooms. beyond these 2 rooms are endless stretch of paddy fields.... Her parents and her son was in the living room welcoming me. FB : this is my nanay and tatay Me : Hello, nanay and tatay I took their right palm and place it on my forehead. A gesture of traditional respect for elders. The old couples smiled boardly at me. FB : You will sleep in my room tonight and I will sleep with my daughter in her room. Me : Ok. She bring me to her room so that I can change and unpack. It was a small room. with an old king size bed, dressing table and a old wardrobe with the handle missing and a small plastic table.
