On 23 Aug Saturday, they plan to hold a protest in Hong Lim Park to highlight what they believe to be gaps in the measures in place to protect the housing needs of Singaporeans. The event, which will begin at 4pm, will include speakers such as Mr Patrick Low and Mr Shawn Lee who spoke during Singapore’s first national day protest on 9 Aug 2014. Mr Leong Sze Hian as well as Mr Roy Ngerng who is facing a defamation suit by Prime Minister and Ms Han Hui Hui herself. The organiser of the rally was also behind the protests against the CPF during 7 June and 12 July. At a media conference yesterday, protest organiser Han Hui Hui who recently turned 23, and rally speaker Leong Sze Hian, 60, said they were dissatisfied with the changes made during NDRsg on housing policies and asked for"more transparency and accountability" from the Government regarding CPF and HDB. "We need to raise awareness and educate the general public, there are Singaporeans living in illusion when a lease (of HDB) is a kind of rent yet people don’t know these basic principles," said Ms Han. The speakers for 23 Aug 4pm #ReturnOurCPF – HDB will be as follow: 4.00pm – 4.15pm Mr. Patrick Low 4.15pm – 4.30pm Mr. Jeremy Lim 4.30pm – 4.45pm Ms. Janet Low 4.45pm – 5.00pm Mr. Shawn Lee 5.00pm – 5.15pm Mr. John Ng 5.15pm – 5.30pm Mr. Leong Sze Hian 5.30pm – 5.45pm Ms. Han Hui Hui 5:45pm – 6:00pm Mr. Roy Ngerng Click here to view the whole thread at www.sammyboy.com. |
