Short Term jail term are located at Cluster B while Long Term are normally at Cluster A

just wondering, so if go in prison for small case, like for 2-4weeks like that, will have record that will affect employment too?

Like that damn suay right? Honest man make silly/stupid mistake then ruin whole life. Cannot afford to make mistakes in SG, will be condemned for life..

If your jail time was for minor offences..... your offence will be expunge after a few years if you behave yourself and not get into trouble again. Officially you will have a clean record again but unofficially your jail time will always remain in the state database.

Only specified minor offences qualify to become "spent" after 5 years of being crime-free, and the sentences have to be less than a 3 month imprisonment or $2000 fine.

After the criminal record becomes spent, if you are asked if you have a criminal record, you can answer no.

Unfortunately, if you are asked if you have ever "been convicted in a court of law" (which is very often the case in job application forms), legally, you would have to answer yes.
