Re: BEST FOOD DISCUSSION - Palatable, Savory, Delicious Food Found In ASEAN
Anyone ever tried this local traditional Malay food.
Tried the famous Haig road putu piring today. There was a continuous queue but fast moving. It was good! Soft and moist.. a little too sweet for me but hey.. traditional malay kuehs are known to be sweet!! This is their ang mo kio branch.. i only knew abt it after watching 'The little red dot' on TV. 5 pieces for $2.50 but i rmb in my younger days they used to be much bigger..

Despite missing the one at old Lavender (and then next door Hoe Nam building), this same name stall with its special sauce on its wanton mee more than makes up for the craving.
Cooked by a younger generation and spotted with a following, I think the stall may well see success.
They priced their fare to be even below the old Lavender Kok Kee.
what happen to the old kok kee and where they are now since they moved out of hoe nam building?
