Hide your past. There is no reason for anyone to have to know your past. I had sb when I was in the Philippines, and they are now married. They, too, do not let in on what was in their past (though we still exchange birthday greetings every year).

So it's kind of like a double-edged sword as u call it, find the right one and you'll be happy, end up with the wrong one and you'll have misery practically everyday.

Guys who are able to look beyond what has happened in the past stays in the past, are far and few. But i'm sure you'll eventually find 1 such person. So never give up and best of luck there.
