Never mentioned if we can easily get it from HJ or not.
And almost all the articles i read mentions anti-biotics and the course is 1 month. But i suspect that is for very serious case of infection.

Was hoping some real doc will really give me a better idea.

You can't get a prostate infection from a hand job!!!

Prostatitis is a complex topic. There are basically 4 types:
1. Acute Bacterial Prostatitis
2. Chronic Bacterial Prostatitis
3. Chronic Abacterial Prostatitis (3A- inflammatory 3B-non inflammatory)
4. Chronic Silent Prostatitis

1. Acute Bacterial Prostatitis
Sudden onset. Pain passing urine. Pain on ejaculation. Pain in perineum.
Feel like shit. Fever. If a Doctor or anyone is dumb enough to stick a finger in your anus to examine your prostate you will probably pass out from the pain. Caused by STDs or non STD bacteria (eg E Coli, Klebsiella, Pseudomonas etc). Easily cured with antibiotics. Shit loads of antibiotics to be precise.

2. Chronic Bacterial Prostatitis
Symptoms more insidious. Maybe some discomfort passing urine. Maybe some discharge. Maybe some ache in testis or perineum. Maybe some backache. Can be caused by STD or non STD. Bacteria identified from Prostate Secretions of semen. Again shit loads of antibiotics.

3. Chronic Abacterial Prostatitis
Same as above but no bacteria. Treatments vary from tablets to injections to shockwave therapy.

4. Chronic Silent Prostatitis.
No symptoms. Usually picked up when we are looking for something else.

OK. Long preamble. So can you get prostatitis from a handjob? Well, I would naturally say no. That said, I have seen one case of Gonorrhea from a HJ and Gonorrhea may case prostatitis. So I stand corrected.

That said, there are so many other things that can cause prostatitis that modern medicine does not even understand. There are many theories none of which are proven.

So, if you have symptoms of prostatitis, first see a good doctor and find out which type it falls under 1, 2, 3, or 4. Only then can the appropriate treatment be recommended to you.

Dear Dr Tan,

Supposedly one got the 1 & 2, will he infect his partner with STD should he got those? through vaginal and oral sex?
