this is an interesting topic...

let me share my case... i agree that most SG girls are spoilt, pampered and they thought they are very high class also, but its the same case as a some vain foreign ladies (am dating a msian girl currently)

when i was jobless for 6 months, i had to eat humble pie and try to make her happy as much as i could by forking out my savings to buy her decent meals and movies... but often during this period, she would find the excuse like she's busy with these and that, a lot of interesting activities to fill her week, sometimes, even a simple msn conversation cannot last more than 10 mins... btw we have been dating for 2 yrs.

Now that i got a job wif a rather OK income, her busy schedule magically disappeared into thin air and i can see her pattern liao.... she start to suggest for holiday overseas (on the pretext of spending time with me), buy a house....asking me to accompany her everyday. Its total 360 degrees change (better then colgate total toothpaste). KNN, i really agree wif what bros advised earlier... dun show off ure financial status, for my case i would rather act like a poor humble dude now....

First and foremost, it seems that it is we guys that have created this problem with the girls by indulging in their desires and wants. Girls in Singapore are materialistic and too spoilt due to the family background and peer pressure. Most of these girls who fall into this bracket have shit for brains and cannot carry a conversation to save their lives. I have dated some of them in my younger days and I really cannot believe the amount of crap I have to put up with.I can call all those who want their branded goods and fine dining no better than prostitutes. I mean prostitutes are better, at least hookers provide a service. Bro, you are right! I had my fair share of relationships with sg girls, I strongly agree with you that majority of them are materialistic or realistic thus adding alot of pressure resulting to alot of unnecessary argument in a relationship.

After I had enough of sg girls I tot to myself why not venture into KL for a change, indeed the opportunity arrives and I went over in 2007, till now I still reside in KL but I do go back sg to visit my good old buddies and parents once awhile. In 2007 I met a girl from KL whom I eventually married in 2008. All I can say she is the most wonderful thing that happened to me in my life. She's pretty, slim, confident yet dislike branded. She can carry herself really well even with non-branded clothes. There was once I bought her a gucci bag and she nagged at me the whole day, had a earful that day...lolx.

She can cook well and washes most of our clothes, I suggested to get a washing machine but she rejected that idea saying hand wash is always better. Don't think I can ever find another girl like her anymore. For those guys out there, just keep your options open. I'm sure oneday you will get a gf/wife that suits you.

And i have to say...the girls that you always see in the picture threads..you know...those partying and kindda looks semi-chio to chio...these are the types that are always looking for a free ride. What I mean a free ride is they want the materialistic stuff in life..and a guy dumb enough to provide it.

I've dated a few chio bu like that.....and never once did I succumb to their request of buying expensive handbags. The only time I ever bought an expensive hand-bag for my gf was the new zealander..she never did ask for anything when we were dating and she was kind and considerate...too bad her family objected if not maybe will get married liow.
